The 14. National rehabilitation conference in Denmark

The 14. National rehabilitation conference in Denmark

Where are we headed and what does the new definition of rehabilitation bring with it? The intentions are good, but questions are still being asked about rehabilitation. At the conference we discussed the new definition and how people in need for rehabilitation experience that the efforts they received are coordinated and coherent.

Our Professor in rehabilitation Jette Primdahl has been a co-author of the report says: “The new report on rehabilitation (Hvidbog) contains a new Danish definition of rehabilitation and a description of key elements in the definition. The new report on rehabilitation (Hvidbog) focuses on using the individual’s values, hopes and dreams as a starting point and a greater focus on also working with the person’s psycho-social needs, so that rehabilitation is not only perceived as one single element but consists of many  interacting elements. There is also a focus on the importance of cooperating with the relatives and on the need for coherent processes across sectors and welfare areas”.
